Information on courses delivered in English-language study programmes is available HERE.
Conditions for Regular Progression to a Higher Year
The conditions for progression to a higher year are specified in the presentation information of each individual study programme (see the section Progression within the programme and completion of studies) on the faculty’s website.
- First-cycle study programmes: https://www3.famnit.upr.si/dodiplomski-studij/
- Second-cycle study programmes: https://www3.famnit.upr.si/magistrski-studij/
- Third-cycle study programmes: https://www3.famnit.upr.si/doktorski-studij/
Students who meet the conditions for regular progression to a higher year will be granted access to the enrolment form (see the section Enrollment instructions).
Progression to a Higher Year upon Request
A student who does not meet the requirements for enrollment in a higher year may submit a request for enrollment. Requests are active during the enrollment period.
Additional Year (Absolvent Status)
A final-year student will have the option to enroll in an additional year (absolvent status) in the following academic year, provided they have not previously repeated a year or changed their study programme.
If a student does not enroll in the additional year immediately after completing the 3rd year of undergraduate studies or the 2nd year of Master’s studies, despite being eligible (i.e. they take a study break after the 3rd or 2nd year), enrollment in the additional year will not be possible in the following academic year.
Students who are eligible to enroll in the additional year in the next academic year do NOT need to submit any application. The enrolment form will be opened automatically, and students will be notified via email. They will also receive an invoice for the enrolment fee via email (also visible in the ŠIS system under My data / My finances).
IMPORTANT:
A student who does NOT wish to use (enroll in) the additional graduation year (‘absolventski staž’) does not need to arrange anything (i.e. the student does not complete the enrollment form or pay the enrollment fee for the next academic year), as the Student Office will classify the student as inactive (‘pavzer’) as of 1 October.
Enrollment Instructions
The student is notified about the opened enrolment form via email. They also receive an invoice for enrolment-related fees by email (also visible in the ŠIS system under My data / My finances).
If the student does not complete the enrolment form and submit the required attachments by the deadline for UP FAMNIT students (see the enrolment timeline – image), the Student Office will classify the student as inactive (on a study break) as of 1 October (see the section Study break).
The student is notified of completed enrolment via email. Certificates of enrolment can be accessed in the ŠIS system (under My data / Certificate of enrolment).
Enrollment procedure:
- The student accesses the enrolment form in the ŠIS system under ENROLMENT / Enrolment form.
- The student reviews the entered data (any corrections should be noted in the NOTES FOR THE STUDENT OFFICE section – after electronically signing the enrolment form).
- If elective courses are offered in the study program, the student chooses accordingly from the available courses.
- The student submits the enrolment form by clicking the Confirm button.
- After confirmation, the student signs the enrolment form electronically by clicking the Electronic signature button.
- The student enters their electronic signature using the mouse and confirms it by clicking the Include signature button.
- The student must also sign the contract in the same way, if they are required to pay tuition fees. The contract becomes accessible after electronically signing the enrolment form.
- The student uploads the required attachments in the ŠIS system under ENROLMENT / Enrolment attachments:
– a scanned proof of payment of enrolment fees.
Study Break (Inactive Status)
A student is granted inactive status (study break status) if they:
- do not meet the requirements for enrollment in a higher year and have already used the option to repeat a year,
- do not wish to enroll in the next academic year,
- have already used all available enrollment options.
A student with inactive status:
- does not have student status,
- may complete study obligations free of charge in the first year of inactivity, while in the second and subsequent years they are required to pay fees in accordance with the valid faculty price list,
- does not complete the enrolment form and is not required to pay the enrolment fee (or tuition).
A student who will have inactive status in the next academic year will be classified as inactive by the Student Office as of 1 October.
Study Fees and Tuition
All students with active student status are required to pay enrolment-related fees in accordance with the valid faculty price list.
The student receives the invoice for the enrolment fee via email, and it is also available in the ŠIS system (under My data / My finances). Proof of payment of enrolment fees is a mandatory attachment to the enrolment form.
IMPORTANT:
In accordance with the General Terms and Conditions for the Payment of Tuition and Study Fees at UP FAMNIT, a student cannot enroll in the next academic year until all outstanding financial obligations to the faculty have been settled.
