Toralf Trautmann, a distinguished physicist and professor at the University of Applied Sciences in Dresden (HTWD), presented a of autonomous driving and advancements in automotive software on March 14, 2024, in Izola.
Attendees gained insight into advanced automotive software and its development at the event.
Within his visit to UP FAMNIT, Dr. Trautmann shared his knowledge and experience also at the Monday computer seminar on March 11, 2024.
He focused on the development and testing of advanced driver assistance systems, surrounding sensors (Lidar, Radar, Camera) and data fusion, approval processes for autonomous vehicles, as well as the development of software and prototyping using Matlab/Simulink. At the seminar he presented the research, which emphasizes the necessity of sensor fusion for improving detection quality and addresses the physical limitations of sensors, proposing design adaptations for better visibility.
More about the current testing procedures and development activities of the Automotive Mechatronics Laboratory at HTWD is also presented in this video.
The video recording of the seminar is available at this link.
