Quality Assurance
General
UP FAMNIT has devoted special attention to quality assurance since the very beginning of its operation. Over the years, it has systematically incorporated various activities into its work that enable continuous evaluation of the faculty’s performance. Below, we list only some of the most essential activities in this area:
- Monitoring student feedback and timely identification of weaknesses and implementation of improvements:
The faculty regularly monitors student satisfaction with the implementation of study programmes, both through student surveys and regular meetings between study programme coordinators and students. This approach enables the faculty to promptly identify any potential weaknesses in the delivery of study programmes and to continuously introduce appropriate measures and improvements; - Student counselling:
Counselling is provided by study programme coordinators, heads of departments, tutors, and the Student Affairs Office; - Informing employees and involving them in co-decision-making regarding the development of the faculty:
Employees are informed about events at the faculty and kept up to date through information on decisions adopted by the Senate. Important decisions regarding the development of the faculty are discussed at the Academic Assembly. Employees also actively participate in the bodies and committees of the faculty; - Promoting effective communication at the level of departments and study programmes:
The Faculty Senate has appointed study programme coordinators responsible for professional coordination and supervision of programme implementation. Regular meetings of the Dean with Vice-Deans, Heads of Departments, and Study Coordinators ensure that the management is continuously informed about the faculty’s operations, while also enabling discussion of common issues faced by all heads and coordinators; - Reporting on results and reviewing reports, including the self-evaluation report:
The preparation of reports is a joint activity of the faculty’s executive management, heads of departments, study coordinators, and professional services. Reports are reviewed by the relevant committees, the Senate, and the Student Council; - The Commission for the Promotion and Monitoring of the Quality of Educational and Research Work:
The faculty has established a commission that monitors key data on the quality of the institution and submits proposals to the Senate and the faculty management. The members of the commission are listed here.
Faculty self-evaluation – EDUCATIONAL activity
The faculty self-evaluation report is presented in the reports below, specifically for the academic years 2007/08 and 2008/09 in separate reports of UP FAMNIT:
For the academic years 2009/10 and 2010/11, the self-evaluation report was prepared only at the level of UP, based on data provided by UP member institutions; therefore, the UP-self-evaluation reports for these two academic years are presented below:
From the academic year 2011/12 onwards, faculties adopt their own individual reports, which are then incorporated into the joint self-evaluation report of UP. UP reports are available here, while UP FAMNIT reports are published below:
The faculty also carries out self-evaluation of study programmes with the help of student surveys, which are conducted every year for all implemented programmes:
Faculty self-evaluation – SCIENTIFIC AND RESEARCH activity
The self-evaluation of the faculty’s scientific and research activity is included in the self-evaluation report for the scientific research activity of the University of Primorska for the year 2022 (link to the UP website).
