Electivity (among UP member faculties)

Electivity among the Member Institutions of the University of Primorska

The University of Primorska offers students elective courses from various fields. The Rules on the Implementation of Electivity among the Member Institutions of the University of Primorska allow students, within the academic year of their enrolled study programme, to choose courses at other UP member institutions, complete coursework and exams there, and earn credit points. These credits will be recognized as completed study obligations at UP FAMNIT, to the extent permitted by the study programme in which they are enrolled.

Students are particularly advised to carefully review the content-related restrictions regarding external electives in their study programme. These are presented in the description of each study programme on the UP FAMNIT website under the section Electivity:

More detailed information about the electivity procedure is provided in the Rules on the Implementation of Electivity among UP member institutions.

The call for applications, application form, and information package (list of available courses) are available on the University of Primorska website.

The deadline for submitting application forms for electivity among the member institutions of the University of Primorska for the academic year 2025/26 is Monday, 6 October 2025.

Electivity among Universities in Slovenia (National Electivity)

Within the national mobility programme, a student may complete part of their regular study obligations at one of the other three universities offering a related study programme, instead of at their home university where they are officially enrolled. The mobility period must last at least 3 months and no more than 12 months, and must be evaluated with a minimum of 15 ECTS credits per semester.

Students may apply if they meet the following conditions:

  • they have completed at least the first year of study at the Undergraduate or Master’s study programme;
  • are regular students at the home university in the time of the mobility.

The student exchange agreement is available here (in Slovenian language).

The student submits the application at a member institution of their home university (i.e. the university in which they are enrolled), by 15 May for the winter semester and by 15 November for the summer semester. The application must include the following documentation:
