FAMNIT Preparatory Courses for the Advanced-Level General Matura in Mathematics

The Department of Mathematics at University of Primorska Faculty of Mathematics, Natural Sciences and Information Technologies (UP FAMNIT) organizes annual preparatory courses for final-year secondary school students for the advanced-level general matura examination in mathematics. The purpose of the programme is to help students review key topics and prepare as effectively as possible for successfully passing the exam.

The preparatory courses usually take place over several sessions in May, partly online via the Zoom videoconferencing platform and partly in person at the faculty premises. Each session focuses on different topics that frequently appear in the advanced-level mathematics matura examination. Together with lecturers and teaching assistants, participants solve selected problems and learn various approaches to solving them.

Before each session, registered participants receive all the necessary information, including links for online meetings. Attendance at all sessions is not mandatory; however, organisers recommend that students attend as many sessions as possible, as each session covers a different topic.

Participation in the preparatory courses is free of charge, but the number of places is limited in order to ensure high-quality instruction. As additional support for matura preparation, recordings of solutions to selected matura problems prepared by the faculty’s lecturers and teaching assistants are also available.
