Requests for enrollment
> Enrollment in a higher year without completed study obligations

General
Requests for enrollment are available in SIS during the enrollment period.
A student can submit only ONE of the following requests in ŠIS at a time (see photo below).
IMPORTANT: The Committee for Study and Student Affairs will automatically examine the next most favorable enrollment solutions for the student, in case the submitted requests is denied (see Requests organization chart). A student can submit the request before he/she receives all the exam results. In case a student fulfills the advancement requirements afterwards, he/she withdraw the request for enrollment and must informs the Student Services about it.
EXAMPLE: A student submits a request for conditional enrollment in a higher year. The committee does not approve the request and hierarchically considers the next most favorable enrollment option for the student, namely an extension of student status. If the student is entitled to an extension of student status, this type of enrollment is granted. If this enrollment option is also not feasible, the student is allowed to re-enroll, provided that they have not yet exercised this right. If the student has already used the right to re-enroll, they will have inactive student status (“pavzer”) in the following year (see the section on Inactive Status).
Enrollment in the higher year without all obligations
A student may exceptionally enroll in a higher year even if they have not completed all the requirements prescribed by the study programme for progression to the next year, provided they have justified reasons, such as: maternity, prolonged illness, exceptional family or social circumstances, recognized special needs status, active participation in high-level professional, cultural, or sports events, or active participation in university bodies.
The student must submit a request in their ŠIS account in order to enroll in a higher year without having completed all study obligations. In the justification section, they should briefly explain why they did not complete the study obligations.
Attachments: The application must be accompanied by relevant evidence showing the reasons given in the statement of reasons.
Extension of student status
In accordance with the Higher Education Act (Article 70), a student may apply for an extension of student status during their studies, but for no more than one year, and must have justified reasons for doing so.
To extend their student status, the student must submit a request for an extension of student status in the ŠIS system and state in the justification that they wish to extend their status, together with the reasons for the request.
Attachments: The request must include appropriate supporting documents proving the reasons stated in the justification.
Extension of students status in the 1st year (Year plus – international students)
If the student meets the conditions for using the Year Plus programme, they must submit a request in the ŠIS system. Once the enrollment form has been prepared, the student will receive an email notification and should follow the enrollment instructions.
Repeating the year (re-enrollment)
A student who has not completed all the obligations set out in the study program for enrollment in a higher year may, considering the provisions of the Higher Education Act, repeat the year once during their studies. Requirements for repeating the year for each study programme are availabe at the description of each study programme (in the section Continuation of studies according to the transfer criteria).

A study programmes with the requirements for repeating the year:
- PMA, PRIN, PZ: A student may repeat a year once during their studies if they obtain at least 18 ECTS credits from the enrolled year.
- VN, TGO: A student may repeat a year once during their studies if they obtain at least 24 ECTS credits from the enrolled year.
To exercise the right to re-enroll, the student must submit a request for re-enrollment in the year through the ŠIS system.

Study language change
A student who wishes to change the language of instruction for the study program they were originally enrolled in can be granted this change only once during their entire period of study in the enrolled program.
A student who wishes to change the language of instruction of the enrolled study program must provide reasons for the change.
Attachments: Not required.
Parallel enrollment (issuance of consent for parallel enrollment)
The request for parallel enrollment is submitted by students of UP FAMNIT who wish to pursue parallel studies. The requirements for parallel enrollment are a minimum grade point average of 8.0 and an approved request for parallel enrollment.
