13–14 May 2026, online event, innovative approaches in suicidology
This year’s 17th Triple i Conference: Intuition, Imagination, Innovation in Suicidology, organised annually by the Slovene Centre for Suicide Research (SCSR) at the University of Primorska, Andrej Marušič Institute (UP IAM), brought together 352 participants from 43 countries at a virtual meeting. The event was held in memory of the late Dr. Andrej Marušič around the time of his birthday, with the main aim of promoting intuition, imagination and innovation in suicide research and the prevention of suicide and suicidal behaviour.
The theme of this year’s two-day event was “How Can We Prevent Suicide Among Adolescents“, creating a space for reflection and professional exchange through research findings and prevention strategies.
The discussions generated many valuable ideas from a distinguished group of speakers, including Dr. Nuša Zadravec Šedivy, Dr. Vita Poštuvan, Dr. Alexandra Pitman, Dr. Hazel Marzetti, Dr. Diego De Leo, Allison Furlong and Dr. Jonathan B. Singer.
The conference participants were welcomed by Dr. Diego De Leo and Dr. Vita Poštuvan from UP IAM SCSR, as well as Dr. Vito Vitrih, Director of UP IAM.
In recent years, the conference has developed into an important hub for experts in suicide research and prevention, as well as a meeting point for discussions between leading professionals and future suicidologists. The programme covers suicide research, clinical approaches and interventions, while encouraging discussion on theories, prevention strategies and challenges in the field of suicidology.
